Hello friends! I apologize if you’re seeing this news in more than one place, but such is the nature of publishing in 2026. I’ll keep it short:
My book of short stories Storyknife, which I’ve been writing about at length in my “The Story of a Story” posts over the past year, is finally approaching its release date, August 11th. I ask three things of you:
—If you’re anywhere near Brooklyn on August 11th, please come to my book launch, in conversation with the great Lincoln Michel, at Greenlight Books! If you can RSVP, that would be most helpful. But come either way.
—Order a copy of Storyknife at your local indie bookstore. Tell them it’s coming out next month, you’re excited about it, and you think other readers will be too. (If that’s not an option, order from Bookshop! Or just look for it when it comes out!)
—If you’re a fan of my work, tell people about it. Buy a copy (of this book or any of my books) for a friend. Ask your library to order a copy.
Why this last one matters: as we all know, there’s been a major decline in book reviewing and coverage in all forms of media, and so word of mouth makes a bigger difference than it ever has before.
